The LNG terminal is a structure to store liquefied natural gas.

The purpose of the shore connection interface, which we developed for our customer, is to supply a LNG Floating Storage Unit (FSU) that is berthed at a LNG terminal with shore power. For that application our client asked us to create and install a special shore power system with our robust offshore chain for an offshore terminal.

The cable management system consists of following components:

a flexible e-chain system with medium voltage shore connection cables and connectors, and the installation on the mooring dolphin (structure to secure a vessel structure above the water level and is not connected to shore) with a steel structure, an e-chain connection device with emergency escalation procedure mechanism (tensile bar and switches), 2 junction boxes, a winch system, and a connection device to connect the e-chain system to the FSU.
